Martyr Christodoulos
A martyr who was slain by the sword for confessing Christ; little is recorded of his life beyond his witness unto death.
The Holy Martyr Christodoulos
Life
Christodoulos is venerated as a martyr of the Orthodox Church who, according to the surviving record, was put to death by the sword for confessing Christ. He is commemorated on February 26. Almost nothing of his life has been preserved beyond the fact of his witness unto death.
The account of his martyrdom is brief and undocumented in detail. The available sources note simply that he was slain with swords, and the place and date of his suffering are not specified. His memory is transmitted through the Synaxaristes of Saint Nikodemos of the Holy Mountain, the principal source in which his commemoration appears.

(Podoben: “You sought the heights...”) You appeared as a bright star announcing Christ with your radiance,
which is repulsive to this world, O Martyr Christodoulos;
extinguishing the allure of false gods,
you enlighten the faithful,
always interceding for us all.

Your holy martyr Christodoulos, O Lord,
through his sufferings has received an incorruptible crown from You, our God.
For having Your strength, he laid low his adversaries,
and shattered the powerless boldness of demons.
Through his intercessions, save our souls!
